this is my first bad bunny album, and he is such an interesting phenomenon to me, a latin artist so famous in latin america and the usa but that almost no one listens to in brazil, still, he's withouth doubt one of the biggest artists in these last couple of years, and for a reason tbh, he blends neoperreo, reggaeton and caribbean music with electronic elements really well, working with artists like tainy (which i love), he creates an amazing album that pays homage to puerto rico, and it's beautiful, i haven't been able to pay much attention to the lyrics but the sounds on these are great, love specially the more reggaeton type of songs, last year i had a big reggaeton phase and i was listening a lot of artists like isabella lovestory, villano antillano and tainy, hope to see more from reggaeton artists this 2025.

artist: linkin park
name of the album: meteora
genre: #nu metal, #rap rock
year: 2003
country: united states
favorite tracks: faint, figure.09, somewhere i belong
rating: ★★★★½
i grew up in an era where linkin park was supreme, everybody was talking about and listening to linkin park, no exception, i believe that because of this major success i lost the interest to get to know them more, i used to like system of a dawn and i was really into some rock bands like rage against the machine and such but something about the major linkin park hits never really did it for me, until last year when they announced the new singer and several videos started showing up on my social media and i got obsessed, both chester's and emily's voice are amazing but there's something so unique about the way early linkin park sounded, the lyrics are so real and even made me have some deep reflection on my identity, 'somewhere i belong' is probably one of my favorite nu metal songs.

artist: 王菲 (faye wong)
name of the album: 唱遊 (sing and play)
genre: #mandopop, #dream pop
year: 1998
country: china
favorite tracks: 感情生活, 色誡, 臉, 半途而廢
rating: ★★★★★
this is an album that has been with me for almost 7 years now, and it totally changed how i view music and the possibilities of what genres and artist can be, i first listened this in a very specific part of my life where i just stopped playing drums in a band that only played indie rock and after the band ended i only felt like i was wasting my time listening and playing indie rock, it felt like a door had opened for me and it had so much to give to me, so many different music genres and possibilities. i had always enjoyed kpop and asian pop in general, but it was also a time where i was discovering artists like ayumi hamasaki, namie amuro, koda kumi, utada hikaru and sheena ringo, and it all fell in this perfect timing.
faye wong is an artist that had up until then made a lot of noise in the cantopop scene in hong kong, and was exporting her sound to china through mandopop, but with her major success she was able to blend the mainstream mandopop music scene with alternative styles from the mid-90's, taking lot's of influence from the cocteau twins, the sundays and the cranberries, and it created this amazing mandopop bible that is sing and play.
some songs are heavier in he mandopop style and i respect her for that, it is a sound that i particularly adore and even in the songs that are havier in that sense you can still feel the dream pop influence, anyway, this is such an amazing album and it was the first i listened to in full in 2025 so i wanted to share some love and write a few words about it.
